Farm Animals Nursery Theme Ideas

Farm Animals Nursery Theme Ideas

Nothing screams 'new baby' better than baby animals. The really nice thing about the farm animals nursery theme is how versatile it is- you have your pick from sheep, goats, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, and ducks- whatever your preference. Another perk is how it lends itself to both genders, so if you choose not to know the sex of your baby you can easily use the farm animal nursery theme and be confident nobody will think twice.

Farm Animals Nursery Color Scheme

Gender Neutral Color Scheme: Yellow + White + Gray

Girl Color Scheme: Yellow + White + Pink

Boy Color Scheme: Yellow + White + Blue

The base colors for this theme are a bright, airy, and gender neutral yellow and white. A third color is added for a little flare (gray, pink, or blue).

Walls

Color: Benjamin Moore- Sundance Yellow

This color is one of my personal favorites-- it gives the room an energetic glow, but is still relatively mellow.

Bedding:

White Bed-skirt, White Breathable Bumper, Sheets in Gray, Blue, or Pink

These example sets can be found at Pottery Barn Kids. The sheet will add a pop of color to stand out from the white. You can find the bed skirt and bumper here, and find the sheets here.

Rug:

Faux sheepskin or cowhide. Use white as the predominant color.

Since this is a farm animal nursery theme sheepskin or cowhide is a no brainer for a rug. Faux fur is preferable for a nursery as it is easier to clean and is less expensive so there will not be so much heartbreak when spit up, milk, and other liquids spill on it.

Wall Decor:

Farm animal prints, barn door wall hanging (contact us to have a custom made piece).

Accents:

Restoration Hardware: Lamb rocker, Faux fur blanket, antique farm animal toys.

Draperies:

Crib:

Wood crib in gray or white

Or a metal crib in black or white

Mobile:

You can find some beautiful farm animal mobiles on etsy in a color scheme to fit your room.
