This series will give you some great ideas on what you can do to modify your existing kitchen island or build a whole new centerpiece.

Modern Countertops:

Materials: Quartz, Cement, Wood, Stainless Steel. The current trend is to have your kitchen island countertop different than the rest of your kitchen. And to go bold to make it a statement piece in the kitchen.

Waterfall Countertops: Continue the countertop down the side of the island. This is easy to clean, and provides a glamorous modern look to your kitchen.

Cabinets and Base:

Materials: Reclaimed Wood, flat panels, gloss cabinets. There are a lot of materials to choose from, but consider making the island different from the rest of your cabinetry. Painting your island cabinets a different color, using different materials (reclaimed wood), and different hardware will make your kitchen a show stopper.
