My Favorite Interior Design Trends: Cement Tiles

Cement Tiles are one of my favorite interior design trends and I unfortunately have nowhere in my house to put them (watch out I will probably be creating a table of some sort with them at some point :-).

Cement Tile are beautiful handmade pieces, come in a wide range of patterns and colors, and add a sophisticated, yet fun design flare.

Where to Use Cement Tiles:

Kitchen Backsplash, Bathroom Backsplash, Bathroom Floor, Laundry Room Floor, Backsplash for a Kitchen Range.

Some manufacturers and contractors say you can use Cement Tiles in the shower-- others say not to. So if a shower with cement tiles is your plan… do your research and ask the manufacturer first. If you do decide to use them in a shower make sure they are properly sealed or you will end up with watermarks.

Cost:

Cement Tiles are not cheap and usually range between $6.00-$20.00 per piece depending where you get them, what the manufacturing process is etc.

Care & Maintenance:

Make sure to keep the cement tiles sealed properly to protect them as cement is porous and will absorb everything you don’t want it to absorb. They are susceptible to etching and acid erosion so be careful what you use to clean them and make sure you don’t use a Dremel around them.

Check out the gallery of pins below for some ideas on how you can incorporate Cement Tiles into your next project.
