Part 2: Farmhouse Style
Part 3: Kitchen Sinks
Part 4: Custom Built
The farmhouse style is very popular and is only gaining more traction with HGTV’s fixer upper taking the lead. If you are looking to do an update here are some ideas and trends to give your house that farmhouse feel.
Open Shelving Vanity
Instead of cabinet doors and drawers using a vanity with open shelving is a nice touch. You can use crates, and baskets to organize and store towels, cleaning supplies, first aid supplies etc. This enables you to change it up every once in awhile by adding in a new splash of color to the items on the shelf (really great for those of us that like change).
Square Sinks
Instead of round under-mount sinks, the farmhouse style most often uses square partially exposed sinks.
Wall Mounted Faucets
Way back in the day faucets were connected to the wall rather than to the sink or vanity-- this trend has come back not only with the farmhouse look but also with more modern or contemporary styles.
