To start the series off we are going to focus on Modern Sinks and Vanities and the popular trends going on now.

Floating Vanities and Sinks:

Floating vanities have become very popular. Instead of building a cabinet with a base- the cabinet is mounted to the wall so that it floats off the floor. Install can be a bit more challenging since the entire unit has to be mounted to the wall- but it does have a modern flair a lot of people love.

You do have a couple of options to accomplish this style.

1. Purchase a Floating Vanity Cabinet and sink. This gives you storage space.

2. Purchase a floating sink without the cabinet. This is a lot easier to install, but you don’t get any cabinet space. This option works better for powder rooms than full bathrooms.

Sink/Counter Combo:

The Sink/counter combo is becoming more and more popular. The countertop and sink are all one material and flow seamlessly together. You can purchase these in a variety of materials: cement, natural stones, corian, marble etc.

This style brings a sophisticated minimalist touch to your space.

Modern Vessel Sinks:

Vessel sinks are still in- and are being combined with the floating vanity.

Popular Materials

Natural elements are very popular right now: wood, and stone. Cement is also creeping up as a favorite. There are a lot of ways you can use these elements to create a gorgeous modern bathroom besides just in the vanity or sink.
